Week 1: The first week was a fun multigames tourna-ment. Each member was in a pair with a friend, and had to complete a series of games. If you lost the game, you had to play again with someone else. The aim was to com-plete the entire circuit as quickly as possible. Me and my partner spent a very long time playing table tennis! The games included table football, pool, and my partic-ular favourite, jenga. One set of friends managed to make a tower taller than some of our members en-tirely from the jenga blocks! That must have taken nerves of steel! The evening was great fun and encouraged people like myself to get out of their comfort zone and do things they usually wouldn’t.
Week 2: The second week was a night of the Japanese craze of karaoke, organised by the students and staff of Muntham House School. The members sang current pop songs such as Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ hit “Uptown Funk” and Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off”, as well as karaoke classics like Jour-ney’s phenomenon “Don’t Stop Believin’”. The evening got almost everyone up on their feet singing, and show-cased several hidden talents. The evening finished with a big finale, in which all of the members sang as one en-semble, with brilliant results. Barns Green Youth Club would like to thank Mun-tham House School for their contribution on the night.
